Easy, tasty Pesto Recipe for your pasta comfort food craving


If you love fresh basil but can’t keep it fresh, make and freeze this pesto. I scoop the pesto into an ice cube tray and then transfer the frozen cubes into a plastic freezer bag and use 1 or 2 cubes in different pasta dishes. Especially delicious with shrimp sauteed in butter and lemon!

Ingredients for Pesto

  • 6-8 large stalks basil, leaves and stalks
  • 6-8 large cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 cup pine nuts
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • salt
  • fresh ground pepper
  • 1/4 – 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil

How to Make Pesto

  • There’s no cooking involved! Just throw all the ingredients except the olive oil in the food processor and pulse-chop a few times.
  • Then turn on full and stream in the olive oil until it’s all well-blended and creamy.
