Ingredients
Tip:
Generally, crock-pot slow-cooking provides intense flavouring and its own liquids with smaller measurements of ingredients than other types of cooking. This recipe reduces the ingredients called for in the BBQ Pork Ribs Recipe without sacrificing the flavours.
- Pork Back Spareribs, 3lbs
- Brown sugar, 1/8 cup
- Sesame oil, 1/2 tbsp
- Ginger, 1 three inch piece, sliced
- Soya sauce, 2 tbsp
- Green or Red Chilis, 2 medium, finely chopped (or to taste)
- Garlic, 4 large cloves, coarsely chopped
- Onion, 1 small, or 2 shallots, coarsely chopped
- Lemon juice and sections from 1/4 lemon
- Honey, 1/8 cup
- Cilantro, 1/2 handful, coarsely chopped
Cooking Method
- Mix all ingredients in the crock pot.
- Submerge the ribs, ensuring they get well-coated, then stand ribs up in circle with meat side out.
- Cook on low for 6 - 8 hours.
- Place the ribs under a hot broiler, meat side up, or meat side down on a hot, well-oiled barbeque grill, for 5 - 10 minutes, basting with the sauces until nicely carmelized.
