Hello, and thank you for visiting.
My name is Carolyn Nantais, and I am the writer and publisher of The Recipe for Travel. I am also a web content provider specializing in web development and writing services for non-profits, small businesses, ESL writers and web professionals. See my new site, The Website Writer, for details.
For the past 20-plus years, I have worked as staff and consultant in various executive, administrative and creative capacities in government, labour, non-profit and web publishing organizations.
Sample Topics:
International Food
Travel
Home & Garden
Lifestyle & Hobbies
Health & Beauty
Non-profit Internet Connectivity
Services for Seniors
I have developed, written and edited print and online community and consumer information about a diverse range of topics and products. Web publishing clients regularly revise and update their content, so I do not provide links here to sites that I wrote or edited. However, I am happy to provide samples of my original writing submissions on request.
Client confidentiality provisions also prohibit disclosure of financial specifics, and profitability is relative to a web publishing client's ability to invest in marketing and ad campaigns, but I can take some credit for writing several small sites, (at more than reasonable rates), that net well over six figures annually.
As a consultant and staff member, I have helped small and growing non-profit organizations with office and financial systems, information and contact database management, volunteer programme development and community outreach initiatives. I have exceptional research, analytical and writing skills that have served in many successful project funding proposals and community development initiatives.
With a background in legal, government and non-profit environments engaged in a diverse range of public policy areas and direct social service and advocacy, I am able to quickly assess operational and communications needs of organizations and make recommendations for meeting them strategically and in sustainable ways.
As you can see from the range of content topics above, my research and writing skills are very adaptable to a client's needs.
If you have a topic in mind for a new web site, book or set of articles for online or print publication, or you would like an expert set of editorial eyes to finesse content you have produced, please visit The Website Writer, my new website featuring my services as a web content provider for non-profits, small businesses, web publishers and ESL learners.
Every so often, I take an opportunity to indulge in what I like to call 'temporary retirement' - simply a 'time-out' after completing a project or contract to pursue things that contribute to both my personal and my professional development: traveling, writing, mastering a new software program or technology, learning to teach English as a Second Language, reading, and exploring new cooking techniques and ingredients.
In the spring of 2005, I decided to invest in developing my own web site, the Recipe for Travel, so that I could share my passion for adventures in traveling, cooking and eating around the world.
The Recipe for Travel, a food companion for travel lovers and a travel companion for food lovers, was launched in May 2005, with articles, travel planning tips, food stories and recipes gathered during my round-the-world adventures in travel and food; the long-term vision is to provide other food and travel lovers with both practical information and inspirational anecdotes and articles about eating and traveling in every region of the world.
The site continues to evolve and improve, with plans for new content and shopping sources for food lovers and travelers, including a shop that will feature my travel photos on products like journals, home decor items, calendars, prints and posters.
